Out Of Character: Loose Change.
I'm not generally fond of conspiracy theories and I watched this documentary expecting and intending to be able to point out all the flaws in it. Instead, it has convinced me.

I know that some people will hate me for posting it, but I also know that I will hate myself if I don't. I've come to the conclusion over the years that it is better to bear a bitter truth than conspire in protecting a more palatable lie. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7866929448192753501

If you can prove this documentary wrong, please do. I would love for it to be wrong.

Sixth Season Stories
The tenth story of my sixth season is now available for download at: http://www.4shared.com/dir/3705548/6b527f49/sharing.html

The file name is Season6Episode10SteeleResolve.rtf. All previous 6th season stories are also there. Usual warnings apply: explicit sex, Tony Roselli, pregnancy and terrible jokes, however, this time the Tony Roselli bits feature him getting what he deserves, so if you ever wanted to see the Rat humiliated, here's your chance.

Out of Character: Seen Bones, Bored Now.
I decided to watch the pilot episode of Bones. I managed the first four minutes. She's a whining idiot with no class, he's a jerk. I had intended to watch the whole episode, but when something gets to four minutes without a single interesting or engaging character, it just can't hold my attention. I need a glimmer of wit, a morsel of acting ability, even just a bit of eye-candy would be nice. Instead we get leaden lines, delivered woodenly by the two least charismatic people since Gordon Brown.

On the other hand, I highly recommend the Bones vids by SB158. I knew they were brilliant before, but having seen the source material, I can only say she works miracles.

Nobody EVER tell me again that Bones is like RS. Laura Holt wouldn't go around being such a silly little victim!

Out of Character: Apparently, I am Partly_bouncy
Because I expressed the view that the dear little airheads of OTW and the associated witless fangirls who are currently acting like 12 year old playground bullies are being a little silly about their fear of being "outed" as fans when they have made no effort to conceal their identities, I am now assumed by one to be a sockpuppet run by Partly-bouncy. A glance at my profile and the communities I run would have shown this particular idiot (who is anonymous, because these halfwits don't have the courage to admit who they are when they lie about people) that this "sockpuppet" account has around 11 stories, each of between 50 and 70 parts in a fandom in which Partly_bouncy has never been involved. Rather an elaborate ruse just to enable her to pass as someone else, wouldn't you say?

These stories are updated daily and use, incidentally, English grammar and spelling.

Frankly, this accusation tells you all you need to know about these people. If they had two braincells between them, they wouldn't have conflated us for a moment, especially as I passionately believe that no-one should be making money out of fandom and she is of the opposite view.

Here is the comment, I'll add a link to it too, but this lot tend to delete things to cover their tracks (Note, incidentally, the illiteracy. Her second sentence says the opposite of what she thinks it does):

So how was that trip up to Canada to see Grey Owl back in the day?

There isn't a single person out there that doesn't believe the laura-holt-pi nom is anything but another of your sock puppets...let alone people who know you and your history from the moment you first found the internet and created chaos in your wake.

Why don't you go call sidewinder in a state of histrionics about how you're so misunderstood.

You've made this bed, now go lie in it.

Two Non-RS vids
I made both of these for Videochallenge, deciding against the first because, although it is from the point of view of a single character, the fact that it has a lot about the relationship might breach the "no couples" rule and that would feel wrong, even if some of the angst-free challenge entries had a lot of angst in them (great vids, though!)

Anyway, first, an Emma vid, from Mr Knightley's point of view:

This May Be A Relationship.
He solved the case, with another brilliant flash of inspiration. Wilson is a hero for saving his bank a fortune and the reputation of Remington Steele just keeps getting better.

I think I'm in a relationship with Mr Steele. He wants to see the fan dance and I said not yet and he was fine about it. Then we kissed again and it felt like a commitment, even though we'd both swear it wasn't.

I'm in love with a man who doesn't exist. It's insane. I know this will end badly, but right now, it feels wonderful.

A Kiss in a Wine Cellar
Oh, well, I didn't expect that to happen ... any of it.

We talked and he wasn't shocked or appalled or ashamed of me. He actually seems to like wild Laura and maybe he's one of the few men who can handle her.

He Heard
He heard me talking to Wilson. What a disaster! Now he knows why things fell apart between us, if last night didn't show him. Why do I always make such a mess of relationships? Not that Mr Steele and I ever had a relationship, but still. I had hopes for us, at times. Now there's no hope, is there? He's seen me at my worst and he now knows that Wilson couldn't handle it.

Acapulco!
The body exists, as I suspected. Wilson gave us the facts. Sadly, he didn't give me all of the facts. A little warning about who was there with him would have been helpful, because there was a night in Acapulco when tequila and the misery of trying to be everything I wasn't made me cut loose in what Wilson later called "an embarrassing display." Some of his friends from the bank witnessed it. When one of them said he recognised me, I was worried. Later, he remembered where he recognised me from.

OOC: Just let me moan about this once, to get it out of the way.
The week's not off to a great start. Lack of sleep is driving me insane. Bonds of Steele is under attack by people who don't seem to have a clue what it's about and who are mostly just sharpening their knives to unleash their full spite at Season 5 when they start discussing that next week. A customer yesterday tried to bully me into letting him off the charges for bringing stuff back late and I ended up having to lecture him on responsibility and obligations and reminding him that he was warned about the late charge and still chose not to return the stuff on time. Also Videochallenge won't be announcing results until Friday, or starting the next challenge. I know I haven't won, but I may have come third, possibly. Anyway, I like having a challenge to do.

Sorry to talk about all this here. I'm mainly doing it so none of it takes over in chat. I hate moaning and complaining. If I liked it, I'd probably make an attempt to hate Bonds of Steele too. The depressing thought is that they're going to be getting worse as we head into Season 5 and I'm going to remain the only one sticking up for it. Someone called Laura a bitch yesterday. If they were in the same room, I'd make them watch Season 5 and point out to me one bitchy thing she does. As it is, all I can do is try to see the funny side of grown women acting like 12 year olds. "The one I fancy fancies her. She's such a bitch!" Envy is a terrible thing.
